Born in Romania and based in Cyprus since 1999, Ramona Filip had her first spotlight as a designer in the summer of 2002 when she introduced her haute couture collection “The Dream” while simultaneously launching her label RAMON FILIP. She has since staged numerous fashion shows in London, Athens and Nicosia. In 2012, she expanded her brand to include luxury leather bags from exotic skins sourced from the finest tanneries in the world. During recent years she has also participated to the Paris Fashion Week with her Haute Couture collections, thus reaching and international audience and receiving praising remarks.
Although she has never received a formal training in fashion design, she has an inherent talent for proportion, colour and fabric combinations as well as an instinctive eye for quality and beauty that quickly established her as a permanent figure in the world of fashion.
In 2009, Ramona was presented with the award “Best Designer of the Year 2008” at the Madame Figaro Women of the Year Awards. She had the privilege of receiving the award from one of the world’s most renowned stylists, costume and fashion designer and Oscar nominee, Patricia Field. In 2016 she was awarded by the same institution for a second time as “Best Designer of the Year 2015”.
Nearly twenty years as a designer as well as styling and creating fashion have provided her with deep insight and extensive professional experience to cope with the challenges of the highly competitive world of fashion. From the very beginning Ramona Filip used the newest social media technology to develop her business and to build a strong brand identity for herself. Her impeccable personal style and her extraordinary fashion sense, in combination with her stimulating and inspirational personality, have propelled her to a trend-setter, a fashion persona and an influencer who continues shaping the local fashion scene with a reach of over 200K Instagram followers.
Today, Ramona is operating from her studio in Nicosia, which has become a hot house for evening dresses and prêt-a- porter deluxe. Her job involves designing her collections, managing a team, working with professional photographers and cultivating brand relationships. Her collections are timeless, elegant and luxurious, enhancing the feminine silhouette through simple and contemporary designs.
